NEW PRODUCT - Robusto Light

This lightweight and easily movable drum lift-grip-tilt system is used for the ergonomic handling of small-sized containers in the field of chemical and pharmaceutical production.

Its modular structure means that it can be fitted with add-on elements specifically tailored for the job in hand.

One of the most frequent applications for Robusto Light is for emptying small quantities of solid or fluid substances in reactors as additives in a dust-free atmosphere.

The easily manoeuvrable 4-caster chassis with electrically conductive casters specifically for work in potentially explosive atmospheres and the large extension arm with easy-to-operate grip-lift-tilt elements mean easier, more ergonomic operation for the user. The device complies with the regulations of the workplace safety directive for the lifting and conveying of weights.

Composite material technologies 1 | All about aluminium SEQUEL 12

The most significant technology used to improve the material characteristics of light metals, alloying, has already been dealt with. A difference is drawn here between wrought and cast alloys. In its true sense, this does not constitute a composite material technology.

Increasingly, lightweight designs are made possible by using material combinations. This includes hybrid technology, the construction of functional elements, for example in the automotive engineering industry, made of two materials such as aluminium and steel. Aluminium is yielding in character, light and rust-proof, making it ideally suited as a bodywork material, while steel is hard, heavy (and susceptible to rusting), and is suitable for chassis construction etc.

Further-reaching material combinations are naturally also possible, both as regards the number of materials used – composite structures do not necessarily involve a combination of only two materials as in the case of hybrid technology – and also as regards the method. As a result, plastic and metal and other material mixes can result in sensible combinations. One example of a plastic and metal construction is the sandwich structure used in the Schneider hygienic sheeted deck pallet made of aluminium with integrated hard foam core.
